Our Connecticut Adventures - Part 1
(Originally posted on March 6, 2007)
Well, we are in Connecticut and so far it has been fun, tiring, interesting and COLD!
We flew out on Jet Blue and, in my opinion, it is the best airline I have ever been on. The plane had a ton of room, they have tv's in every seat, there is a choice of snacks (Bring your own meal though), and they have infant changing tables in the rest room. John actually had leg room! It was the best plane trip ever - even with two kids.
Yesterday we drove to Mystic Seaport, had lunch and drove to Rhode Island. We should be able to knock a few more states off our plan to visit all 50 states together by summer. We actually saw it snow a little bit yesterday. Some flurries while we were driving.
Today we moved into our corporate apartment and it was very nice to have a home. It is a two bedroom apartment, so the boys are sharing a room again - Sam in the port-a-crib and James in a Queen sized bed. So far the best thing was home cooked meal at our own table tonight. Between traveling and packing up our house, we needed some home cooking.
I had the fun experience of going grocery shopping and getting our groceries up to our apartment. Sam joined meon our trip to the local Stop and Shop. The fun came when we returned home. We are 2 or 3 floors up from the parking garage, and it was a whopping 19 degrees today. I ended up unloading all the groceries into the elevator lobby, then loading Sam and the groceries in to the elevator, riding up, unloading into the hallway outside the elevator, and then ferrying stuff from the hallway to our apartment. The other guy in the elevator got a good chuckle out of me, I think.
Those are our adventures so far ... I am sure we will have many more.
